Panel Server's recommended number of TCP devices

Hello,

We are on design and estimation stage for PAS with multiple meters, there is any recommended number of devices to the communicaion performance?

In the user guide tells 64 for max connetion, and the release notes tells 32 devices for the maximum number of Modbus/TCP concurrent connections.

I'd to avoid some trouble issue of communication performance, let me know the general connection number of slave devices with PAS.

Hello,

My understanding on this topic is that PAS can read up to 64 devices via Modbus TCP. The 32 Modbus TCP concurrent connections are to define the limit of devices/systems which can read through PAS at the same time. For instance PME, EPO, EBO, ION devices reading data from serial devices under PAS.

Best regards,

Marian

64 is because you can  have a 'slave' PAS off a master PAS, both having 32 devices each maximum = 64 devices, voila!

Hello,

you have the modbus client that allows to connect modbus device. Limit is now 128 (1.7) instead of 64. this is the theoritical calculation but I would expect that performance testing has been made depending on the type of modbus tcp devices. I saw a calculator for EEH.

Regarding modbus server, it is a feature that allow you to poll from a modbus client data from the PAS. If you have activated modbus server on ETH1 as an example you can poll whatever device from the PAS using the Virtual id. Having maximum 64 concurrent tcp connection should be enough.

Kind Regards,
