Local export Panel Server Advanced – how to sort the exported Data

Hello all,

Currently having a PAS800L, we need to operate local exports on a monthly basis, but we only need some measurements from preidentified devices. According to our experience, it looks like we can only export data for one or for all devices at once and have no choice regarding the measurement.

Is there a way to display the Data of only few devices and to select specific measurement to be displayed?

Thank you.

Hi @DorisPinklady

We have developed a CSV converter to ease the sorting and understanding of Panel Server Advanced Local Export.

You simply need to perform your local export as usual by selecting a beginning and end date, and ensuring that all devices are selected.

Once your local export is available locally on your computer, you can:

  • Download and save a local copy of the tool (attached to this post),
  • Open The tool,
  • Click on the “Import CSV” button
  • Select the local export file previously downloaded from your PAS800
  • Select the period you want to visualize and / or which device and measurement you want to visualise

You will now benefit from an easier analysis experience.

I appreciate the good will but personally I think it's embarrassing to have to create a tool that helps fix data export when instead these basic functions should be native in PAS

Hello Szymon, Thank you for the convertor shared and yes it truly does help to sort and refine the data from the .csv file extracted from the PAS. However a question, is it possible to modify the vb script of the convertor to insert an additional column (in the generated result sheet and which will include a column for calculated consumption data together with any other selected fields ? The reason for this being that the PAS800 does not give actual consumption but register totals and we require actual consumption values.

Thankyou

Hello @Szymon_Hochół

How to format the export data in oder to importing to PME by ETL.

Can you provide steps via docs or videos.

Thanks

Hi @JamesChen ,

there should be no additional formatting of the output file from PAS required to use it in ETL. If you're using the latest release of ETL, tried the hotfix and it still does not work, I highly recommend to contact Tech Support. They should be able to assist you.

Note that I'm referring to the output file of the SFTP publication, not the local export. These two files have different formats, and local export is not intended to be used for ETL applications.

Hi @Daniele_Ottani,

It has nothing to do with "fixing"", because nothing is broken. The primary use of the PAS800 is Local Energy Server, which offers the way to view historical data directly in the PAS webpage. On top of that, it allows to export the logged data into a CSV file. There are dozens of ways the customers might use that output file, and each of them would require different file formatting. This tool was developed to help some of the users to get the result they need in an easier way, of course it does not meet 100% of use cases. Note that for other customers the original output of the locally exported CSV might be exactly what they are looking for.

Hi @MichaelFrancica1 ,

I have shared your request with Product Management team, although I cannot commit on anything here.

Please note that by definition the local export feature is not an Energy Management feature (to analyse consumptions etc.). It is there to give you access to the raw data sampled by the gateway, in case you need for other use outside of PAS.
