Hello Community,
I want share with you a question born from a customer experience. I would know your thinking and know if you have met a similar case.
A customer has set the email addresses in the following way:
The smtp server returned back the following error:
Nov 26 09:16:03 ip-10-10-20-165 postfix/smtpd[23309]: warning: Illegal address syntax from unknown[192.168.0.64] in MAIL command: test@cieloeterravini.com
The diagnostic page of the EGX300 shows a "connection error":
After several check, he solved the problem setting the email addresses ias shows the following picture:
He added the signs "<" and ">".
In base to your experience, it is a problem connected to the specific server or I can take this solution as a general solution?
Thank you for your cooperation.

Hi Salvatore,
Do you have any feedback on your problem?
I'm wondering how you solved this finally as we have exactly the same problem here on a customers site.
Thanks
Daniel

Hi Daniel and Salvatore,
It appears the issue is that the "<" and ">" are required for to and from addresses per RFC 821 and RFC 2821 and the EGX300 isn't adding these characters. From what I have read, some email servers are stricter about this than others. This is why the problem only appears sometimes.
