Hi Bruno,
There are two possible causes:
- attempting to read a register which does not exist in a particular device
- incorrectly configured dipswitch biasing on the EGX100 RS485 port

Hello Borjan, thanks for your help. There are 2 dipswitch for bias and 2 for termination, do you know what is the combination?

If I want to change BIAS, should I set to OFF both middle switches?

Hi Bruno,
I think you should contact Technical Support Representative @ Phone: +615-287-3400 , so they could get an update from our EGX gateway developers regarding to you question.
Best Regards,
Bojan

Hi Bruno,
There are a few things to check in this case:
1. Determine if the serial daisy chain is 2-wire or 4-wire.
2. Set the EGX100 dip switches to match that configuration.
3. Ensure no other devices are biasing the line - the EGX is the master and should be the one biasing the line
4. Ensure that there is a terminating resistor on the last device in the daisy chain and on no other devices.
5. Ensure the EGX100 Serial Port Settings, available via the Web Interface, are set to match the physical configuration.
I hope this helps.

Hi Bruno,
When I have seen this in the past it is normally the parity is different between the meter and the EGX.
In one case we have seen it where a customers meter had a dip switch on their meter for Even/Odd parity and we could only communicate with it if we set the EGX to No Parity.
Hope this helps
