Dear Experts,
Did anyone ever had an experience of the redundant work of architecture Sepam+ACE 949-2 +EGX100 +SFT2841+PSE both for disturbance records download and direct IED settings changes through SFT2841?
It's not on device communication itself, it's about spesial IED functions work with use of EXG.
Thanks in advance for support.

Hi Maria,
PSE is able to download disturbance records from IED.
What was possible in PCVue is possible in PSE as well.
EGX is a transparent gateway, functionality will not be lost.
However, special attention should be paid to number of Modbus slaves connected to each EGX100.
I am not sure how Moxa was handling this, but for PSE recommended architecture see the link to PSE Design Guide.
Regards,
Adrian

Hello Adrian,
Thanks for your unswer.
Just to have a bit more explanations from my side to describe the Russia case.
Russia is a Sepam country with 100 000 Sepam installed base.
ACE 949-2 are preinstalled as a typical solution for Sepam comunication module in all MV equipment.
That meand EAC supplies only Automation cabinets without Relay Protection(as it's already in MV switchboards).
My EAC was 13 years(from 1998) working with Seefox PCVue SCADA solution.(200 projects installed).
For EMCS we have mandatory requirement on the market to download disturbance records from IED and to have possibility of setting changes in the device from workstation.
Thus in PCVue also exists RunTime and SFT2841 is perfectly working in parallel.
As a TVDA we are using MOXA devices as a converter Mudbus RTU/Modbus TCP, thus changing to EGX we are to be shure that nothing of functionality will be lost.
Remain on your disposal for any questions.
Best Regards,
Maria Andreeva"

Hi Maria,
I have SEPAM20/40/80 + ACE 969 TP-2 + EGX100 + PSE 7.30/7.40 at least one pair
The ACE 969 TP-2 is better than ACE 949-2: ACE969 TP-2 is supporting both S-LAN and E-LAN simultaneously over ModbusRTU, while ACE949-2 NOT!
So, which redundancy are you planning?
2 PSE redundant IOServers and 1 EGX100?
Do you need confirmation of waveform downloading into PSE? This is possible also using PSE SEPAM driver. PSE is able to visualize the downloaded waveforms at RunTime, no need for extra viewer software.
SFT2841 will not work simultaneously with PSE RunTime if you do not change the ACE 949 with a better interface.
What other special IED functions will you believe to not work through EGX100?
Remote Indicators (TS) and Remote Controls (TC) both work over SEPAM80 protocol.
Timestamps of Timestamped Digital Alarms are coming from SEPAM.

Adrian
