Hi,
I have four ComX510's that were sending data to PAM FTP, in EO .xml format. (24:00 and 12:00 each day). They are connected to the university IT Network and push data through the university firewall.
Three out of the four have recently stopped sending data to PAM.
The first time this happened, we found that there was a fault within the IT network preventing the ComX's from sending data. The fault was cleared and data started sending, this was Friday.
By Tuesday only one ComX is still sending data. (ComX_Tx3). The other ComX's can not be pinged but all the front panel lights indicate that they are healthy. (ComX_Tx1a, ComXTx1b and ComXTx2).
The three ComX's are power cycled and all is well again for that day, then one by one data stops.
University has carried out some further investigations and discovered that ComX's don't appear in the switch ARP table.
Extract from T=IT Department email;
A question to ask is "Does the ComX participate/respond to ARP requests" The reason for this is that the ARP table entries will expire after 5mins, after that when a device wants to communicate with the ComX's IP address it has to resolve that IP address to a MAC address. If the MAC address in not in the ARP table then an ARP request is flooded out all switch ports asking "who is 172.23.2.127" the device with that address should respond, when it does its MAC address is re-entered in the ARP table. If the ComX does not respond to ARP requests then it would explain why they drop off after a while & we can't ping them until the ComX sends data again.
There is a difference between ComXTx3 (Firmware 1.0.12) and the others at firmware 3.0.6
ComXTx1a has 6 x Digital Inputs from kWh meters and 6 X panel meters connected via Ethernet
ComXTx1b has 6 x Digital Inputs from kWh meters
ComXTx2 has 6 x Digital Inputs from kWh meters
ComXTx3 has 13 x PM5110 meters on Modbus
I have found that there is a selection in the new firmware to allow the ComX's to be pinged.
So I am amusing there is something to help with this ARP issue as well.
Any thoughts.

Hi Mark,
I hope you are doing well. It looks to me like this issue may have a lot of moving parts that we'll need to analyze to find you a solution. Can you log a ticket with bFO so we can put this through support and get you some answers?
Best Regards,
Colton Peltier
