COM'X 510 unable to update via USB and still power LED orange.

Dear All ,

I know com'x is a legacy by now device.
But I am unable to update it from the front USB port.
I tried several versions and several USB sticks and nothing it just hangs.
I would like to know if there is a way to connect via SSH and update it the hard way ?
Thank you in advance

Hi @The_power_sniffer ,

Unfortunately you cannot do anything because your Com'X did not start after many hours.

Then upgrade is not possible.

You can try to factory reset your Com'X (all data and configuration will be lost). Even if after a factory reset, your Com'X cannot be recovered, you will need to contact your local tech support.

Hello @The_power_sniffer ,

If your Com'X510 Power LED is in steady orange state, it means that your device power up process is still on going. The more devices you added to your Com'X, the more time needed to boot up. During start up, you cannot do anything on the Com'X.

Did you wait 1 hour to check if the Power LED switches to green ? Did you power off/on your Com'X ?

If your Com'X is still in steady orange state, something is wrong and this must be checked with tech support (support is limited for this device).

Dear Miss @Romain_Polette

Yes unfotunatlly after 1 hour the light is still orange.

UPS upgrade does not work and the only thing I can find is the SSH server no WEB server avalable.

I would like to know if there are limitations to formatting and size , and USB2 vs USB 3 connection for the memory stick

If it would be possible to get such info it would be lovely.

Thanks

Dear @Romain_Polette

After Factory reset the comx funally worked. I manage to update the FW too. So all is good.

I would like to also know if its possible to get an aftermarket ZigBee dongle ? because I am unable to find the original one.

Thanks

Hi @The_power_sniffer ,

It will be very difficult to find the ZigBee dongle because this device was removed from market many years ago. This dongle was not very reliable with PowerTag and many communication issues with EM4300.

Do you have some Zigbee meters connected to your Com'X ?

hello @The_power_sniffer ,

If you have TH/CL connected using the dongle, you might try this :

REL52867,

Only doubt is the FW loaded on the dongle.

I did not check but normally the Fw should be updated by the ComX upon initialization, not guaranted but you might try...

Hi @Guillaume_Evrard ,

Good catch 🙂 I was not aware this ZB dongle survived through another offer.

You are right, normally the EBXA-USB-ZIGBEE is aligned with the Com'X FW and upgraded when you plug the dongle and power on the Com'X:

What I cannot tell if the commercial ref REL52867 is fully compatible with the Com'X. Design seems the same, but FW inside REL52867 may not be recognized by the Com'X FW.
