Also do we have any tested Custom Device files that would work with EM4800? I have tried creating custom device, but have been getting intermitted comms issue. I will try them again, and can share here.

Just an update...We are planning to release the EM4800 in our next release! Look for it in just a few weeks.

Hi Hastak,
You can program the EM4800 to log the values onboard and then the EM4800 can FTP those data files to where ever you need them (the files are a .TR3 but you can open and read them in Notepad).
If you need to import that data into a software platform like Energy Operation (so that you can display the data) then you could use the to convert those files into a consumable format for the software platform (EEM, EO, etc).
Of course this doesn't help you if you want to display the EM4800 values on the EGX300 itself, but it does give you alternatives if you are having issues integrating EM4800 on EGX300.

Good day Colin,
I have used the onboard logging and FTP function and am aware of EM4800's functions. However, we have a growing demand from various customer projects where they want to be able to map EM4800 data via EGX.
EM4800 is a very good meter in terms of its size/form factor and features, but it has its own software and also its web server/page is not very user-friendly and helpful. Hence we get regular queries from customers regarding this.
I will try and create templates for custom device locally and see if it works. If successful will share it with everyone.

Hello Hastak.
We received a request from the Power Monitoring Offer Manager this morning to have the EM4800 officially supported in the EGX300. We will be working closely with his team to define what is needed to add and support the device.
Thanks,
James Jeanette

Hi James,
Is trending going to be supported for the EM4800?
Thanks,
Amelia

No, sorry trending will not be supported as the EM4800 acts like a BCM or BCPM. The EGX300 doesn't do trending when you have channels, or circuits.
Thanks

Hi James,
I was trying to read an EM4800 into an EGX300 by using the default device type which is included in the new firmware. It turned out that the EGX started reading and suddenly went into time-out. By reading in MODSCAN, I figured out that the meter can only handle 16registers at the same time so I created a new device type by using the web-based tool included in the EGX300 since you cannot edit a default device type. My question is if there is a new release for the EGX-300 that can handle this or maybe I can edit the defualt device type somehow as the client do not want to lose the other capabilities that default meters have (layout, trending, etc).
Any help will be much appreciated.
Regards
