IEC 61439 vs IEC 60439

Hello expert,

My name Widi from Indonesia, I have a question related to IEC 61439 & IEC 60439.

As we know that IEC 60439 is for partial type tested panel and IEC 61439 for full type tested panel.

Is IEC 61439 replacing IEC 60439 ?

Could we use both standard in our design for LV switchboard ?

What's impact by using both standard in our design ?

Yes. We can say that IEC 61439 verified assemblies is replacing the previous IEC 60439 which is partially type tested.

With IEC 60439, we can not say that the product is full type tested, because in IEC 60439 also allow to have partial type tested (allow not to do some verification test),

With IEC 61439 eliminate the Partial Type tested concept. So we can ensure when a product is comply with IEC 61439, then it is full type tested. Meaning that the components and the Panel is verified together as assemblies following the Design & routine verifications.

If a product is comply with IEC 61439, it will also comply with IEC 60439, but not vise versa.

Comply with IEC 60439, may not means comply with IEC 61439 due to partial type tested concept.

=================

Jika suatu produk lulus uji IEC 60439, belum tentu lulus uji IEC 61439.
