I have been requesting a simular function for like 6 years!
Although not a script but a substitution code. Something for a relative sourcename (like a folder.).
In case of multiple type-rooms or custom types, it would be extremely useful to use the folder name as a Prefix for the alarms. Something like this for example (@SourceName(../../)). In other words; A substitution code for a relative sourcename.
Another request I have had, but not totally different, is a subustution code for DeviceName. Today we have this option:
If this also included Modbus and BACnet devices it would also be very, very helpful when setting prefixes to multiple VAV/Fire dampers. It's not unusual we set them up in the hundreds!
If we get the relative SourceName prefix, the DeviceName prefix is no longer necessary though!
A man can dream, hopefully less than a decade 😉

@APA is this something that the "ADVANCED - Alarm Message and prefix setter" would handle? Just thinking about adding it to our initiative.

Yes exactly... I hope this is incorporated into future versions of EBO... I spend so much time correcting prefixes.

That one is a bit dated and unfortunately no, it cannot set prefix using the path.... just edit the existing one with regex.

@Mads_Balsgaard_DK Did you find a solution for this? Otherwise it seems like a very simple script can accomplish this, you can contact me if you need help creating one.
