Hellow,
I have a designer with a question regarding standalone RCD in a conjunction with a circuit breaker. Ecodial is reporting an error according to picture in attachment. Any ideas regarding that errors? Maybe a suggestion to change equipment? Thank you.
Best regards,
K

Hello,
In Ecodial, we have logic in such a way that any protection device which has a breaking(opening/closing while fault occurs) mechanism, will be displayed as an open/close single-line diagram in the network.
In the case of Standalone RCDs, those are the devices that can break the fault network without the help of Circuit breakers. But, other type of RCDs (Addon, Integrated, and Separated RCD) need the help of a Circuit breaker to make or break the network.
Standalone RCD can do its own decision and do its own operation. So in Ecodial Standalone RCDs are considered switches. Which are available in the place of switches along with RCD. If you enable the switch with Standalone RCD, it will propose the iID and other similar RCCB devices.
If you want to use Standalone RCD along with a Circuit breaker, there are 2 ways to do that in Ecodial.
In the above screenshot, you can see that I have added the switch disconnector interconnection after the circuit breaker.
Option 1: Use CB-Cable-Switch interconnection, then make the cable length 0.01m (Basically consider no cable between circuit breaker and switch). In switch, you need to enable RCD with type as Standalone. If it is a standalone RCD with a switch it will propose iID device as a separate protection device.
Option 2(Preferred option): Add CB as an interconnection below that add a busbar and then add a switch then connect one more bus bar. In this scenario, both the circuit breaker and switch are connected with the same Bus bar/switchboard. In switch enable RCD with standalone as type. Now it will propose the iID as the standalone RCD as well as switch.
I hope this will clear your doubts. If you need further clarification kindly write it here.
Thanks & Regards,
Ecodial Experts team.
