updating DCO Network Cable Types from ETL

I'm trying to update the DCO Network Cable Types from ETL but I cannot get it.

I'm using the cable_type table from ETL stagging database but the cables type are not created in DCO.

How can I get to do it?

Regards,

Enric Climent

Hi Enric The functionality is there and should work. The easiest way to figure out what is happening is if I can take a look at the transformations you are using - is that possible? Are they built on top of the example transformation importing network connections and port configurations from an Excel sheet? Best, Niels

Hi Enric

I have looked at the transformations and found out two things:

  1. There was a small error in the port configuration transformation (one of the sorts missed a parameter). See the updated version of the file attached here.
  2. I get the network cables in with type information and color. Both blue and red cables. Note that the experience is better if you create the cable types in Operations first, and then import network connections. The imported connections should then have the same cable type descriptions as the ones defined in Operations.

You can setup the cable types under Tools -> Configure Network Cable Types.

Please try the following:

  1. Delete the staging database and set it up again (to reset the state of the database)
  2. Upload the updated port configuration transformation file
  3. Create the cable types you need in Operations
  4. Setup the network import in Operations
  5. Associate the devices from the external system to the matching equipment and save
  6. Synchronize with the external system again to get the network connections. Now you should have cable types as well.

Best,

Niels
