importing network connections from ETL

I've created a job to import network connections through the ETL. The job runs four transformations to import data to the follow tables in this order: configuration_item, configuration_item_realtion, relation_endpoint_property and relatio_property. The job runs well and insert the records, the state_flad field in configuration_item table is synced but in the other tables is new. And any connection is imported in SWO. I've tried to associate the servers and then run again the job, but any connection is imported too.

Which is the best practice to do this connection import?

Best regards,

Enric

Hi Enric

In previous versions of DCO you had to use the configuration_item_relation and relation_endpoint_property to import network connections. This approach however had some difficulties, especially with deleting connections and ports.

The current way of importing port configurations and network connections is to put the data in the tables port_configuration and network_connection. The work you have already done for the configuration items can be reused, as this is also needed in the new approach.

Information on the tables can be found here: ETL Import Database

I will check if the documentation clearly enough specifies that you can no longer use the tables configuration_item_relation and relation_endpoint_property to import network connections.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Niels

EDIT: I have attached files showing how you can do this.

Hi Niels,

Thanks for your input but I've tried to work with port_configuration and network_connection tables and it doesn't work too.

Do you have any document or sample to do this network integration with ETL?

Best regards,

Enric

I have updated my answer to include some transformations files that should help.

Hi Niels,

Thanks for your help. With your sample files I've got to import the network connections.

Best regards,

Enric
