how to configure SMS Notification

I have a query regarding SMS notification alerts configuration on DCE.

How to configure SMS notification?

Is there any external device required for integration?

What is procedure to configure the device?

Architectural document related to its functionality.

Hello,

SMS email alert actions still use the DCE smtp server to send alerts. These are sent like an email, but limited to 160 character text message. When you configure the alert, you add email addresses you want to send the alert to. These could be a cell provider email address using a phone_number@<cell_carrier.com>

There are additional macros {$MACROS} available in the DCE help for alerts, location, etc

This is not to be confused with an out of band SMS gateway/cellular device that would work outside of the primary DCE ip network. DCE does not have the ability to send notifications if there is a network failure. This would require another out band management device. Unfortunately, I do not have any recommendations of a device that you could use for this.
