Many thanks for the info & screen capture.
The equipment in your screen capture are rear mounted, click on the rack toggle sign (illustrated) to switch the rack view to Rear (from Front):
Then you should see the rear mounted equipment (including device names).

Which Genome Library device are you using to model your rack? (customized ? if yes, how?)

You experience this behavior with all racks or a few of them?
Also, which licenses do you have installed?
I'm able to reproduce a rack view without U numbers when I initially view a rack after a room has been opened, but the moment I zoom closer to the rack the U-numbers appear on the front and rear sides.
