assign tags to many items

We are in the process of mapping and entering all backbone cabling in to DCO. I have 2 questions.

1. Manually connecting patch panels to each other will take some time, is there a way of uploading the information from a spread sheet?
2. can you assign the same tag "Patch Panel" to many items at once?
