Hi John MacDonald,
According to the information on page System requirements, we have:
Recommended StruxureWare Data Center Operation server configuration Server requirement guidelines (minimum)
- CPU: 4 cores minimum. We recommend 8 cores
- Memory: 16 GB RAM (absolute minimum requirement)
- 100 GB storage, speed minimum 170 MB/s
- Cluster network: 1 Gbps connection between nodes
- Disaster recovery network: 10 Mbps with low latency <100 ms
If your'e installing DCO on an existing server, note that DCO claims almost all memory (JVM about 8 GB and Postgres about 6 GB alone). Therefore, you may experience issues if you have other applications running on the server, such as surveillance and monitoring agents.
Server requirement guidelines for 10,000 racks across 200 rooms with 30 concurrent usersServer requirement guidelines for 20,000 racks across 400 rooms with 30 concurrent users
- 8 CPU cores
- 32 GB RAM
- 1 Gbps network connection between cluster nodes
- 100 GB storage, speed minimum 170 MB/s
- 16 CPU cores
- 64 GB RAM
- 1 Gbps network connection between cluster nodes
- 100 GB storage, speed minimum 170 MB/s
Thus, your physical server is no problem with DCO configuration up to 10,000 racks (which probably exceeds your real needs).
With respect.

Thanks for your comments but I was asking due to the RAID controller - please confirm DCO 8.1 will install on this device, thanks!

Hi John MacDonald,
In your question, you did not ask about the RAID controller 😀.
And yet, according to the official specification for the HPE Smart Array P408i-a Controller on page HPE Smart Array P408i-a Controller - Overview, its guaranteed support for CentOS Linux (see also file HPE Smart Array Operating System Support Matrix). Let me remind you that DCO-8.1 is based on CentOS-7 Linux.
With respect.
