Why is there no SNMPv2 Counter64 support in DCE?
I need to read Counter64
values using SNMPv2, but in the web interface, only SNMPv1 and SNMPv3 are available. Even though SNMPv2 is supported, Counter64
values cannot be read.
The product I want to integrate broadcasts certain SNMPv2 data points using Counter64
. How can I resolve this issue?

Hi @OmerHanay ,
I see that SNMPv1 does not support the counter64 data type but in reading up on SNMPv3, it should support the counter64. Was your walk only in SNMPV1 or did you try SNMPv3 as well.
I don't have anything that I know for a fact outputs a counter64 type so I can not test but I would assume that since DCE supports the same data and same DDF files, that the data types supported must remain the same between the 2 supported versions for compatibility reasons. I can try to speak with engineering on this but what I can tell you is that there is no configuration option that can be adjusted in DCE to allow for any data type that it is not already supporting.
Tanks,
Steve

P.S.
Your above walk WAS in SNMPv3, correct?
