Why are we not allowed to search unopened rooms in the windows client?

The old version I could use the Equipment Browser and search for hostname, serial number, and even custom properties and if the device was in a room I did not have open it would show up.  This new version does not do that and it seems absurd.  This is a very usefull function for my day to day work.

Now the web version does have that option but it lacks features the desktop client has.  So there is no way I can use just one.  Please add this feature back.  I feel like this is just a push to make people use the web version though its not a complete version.

Upvoted and I'm on the same opinion. By the way here is another topic in which stated that web interface search has not full function:

Hi Matt,

That's basically due to some technical issues that sometimes resulted in inconsistent search result(s) or very poor performance on the client side. As we didn't have a better solution to these problems at the time, we decided to limit the search (for desktop client) to the open rooms which solved both mentioned issues.

However, I will go ahead and add you to our existing feature request in our system that you would like to have the search functionality so you can search in both open and closed rooms. I will send you a direct confirmation as well.

Thank you,

Kind regards

Thanks for the reply.  My company has around 100 rooms we maintain and track.  So having 100 rooms open just to search is not ideal.  So please do what you can to add this basic feature back.  The root of this software IMO is asset tracking.  Beneficial features are built on top of that basic function.  So it would be great to have the basic function back.
