When I run discovery for device it shows as an SNMP device.

The device is a UPS and Model SRT3000.  Model  also shows universal I/O.  I've done this for other devices and it worked fine. I didn't find any place where I could change the characteristics.

Hi Jan

Is the firmware on the UPS card the latest?  Is the card properly configured?

Cheers

Ed

Hi jan voorsluys,

Right click on device -> Change Device Type -> from the list choose "UPS" -> press OK

But if your device (in this case UPS) is not automatically recognized as UPS, it means that DDF file is not present or incorrect.

Try to check DDF and in case of absence request and add to device definition file list.

The UPS is a APC Smart-UPS SRT 3000VA RM 120V (SRT3000RMXLA).  The NMC is a AP9630 with V5.03 firmware.  I was able to change the device type, but it shows model type universal I/O and the SN of the NMC.  This card was in an UPS which I replaced with a new UPS.  It worked fine in the old UPS, but when I installed in new UPS it didn't recognize the UPS.  I haven't had this problem with other cards I installed.  Bad card maybe?

Hi jan voorsluys,

For a complete description, it is desirable to show here the screenshots of the device sensor window from the DCE-server of this problematic UPS and the web-interface of its NMC2.

In addition, from which model of the old UPS, this NMC2 was removed?

In practice, I had a case where the firmware for another type of UPS was uploaded in NMC2 (this is quite possible). However, nothing bad happened 😀, but the UPS tab from the NMC2 web-interface disappeared, and in the DCE-server all the device sensors of this UPS switched to Unplugged.

With best regards.

Hi Spezialist,

I upgraded the NMC and right away it recognized the new UPS.  Thanks for your help. Have a great weekend.

Hi jan voorsluys,

The device is a UPS and Model SRT3000.

You mean APC Smart-UPS SRT 3000VA?

Model  also shows universal I/O.

If the UPS is APC, then what is the NMC model installed in and what is the firmware version there?

With best regards.

Hi jan voorsluys,

The NMC2 AP9630 is officially supported for this UPS. But here the firmware is already very old as for a new UPS. Therefore, I would still update the firmware of this NMC2 to the current version 6.4.4 (or 6.4.6).

With best regards.
