I'm currently running DCE 7.7 and vmware the OS shows to be CentOS 4/5. How can I confirm what OS is actually being used?

I am not aware of any risks as that should just be a simple edit on the VMware side, but I have not attempted to do this myself. I highly recommend ensuring that you have a successful recent backup of DCE and also a VMware snapshot if possible. These would be used to assist with a restore if the system crashes and is unrecoverable. I do not expect this to happen, but I always recommend that you are planned for the worst and have the ability to recover before making any changes like this.
Additional information is outlined within VMware Docs: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.vm_admin.doc/GUID-3B66132C-F3E7-4F8...

Hello @fdiaz,
VMware shows as CentOS 4/5 as this is likely what was selected upon deployment of the OVA. Due to DCE being a black box system (locked root console), you can not check the version yourself. We have outlined the OS information in the following help center article: https://dcimsupport.ecostruxureit.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038797094-Software-packages-in-Data-Cente...
DCE 7.7.0 - 7.8.0 use CentOS 6.10. We are aware that this is coming up on it's end of life (EoL) and are actively working on an operating system upgrade expected later this year.
Regards,
Cory

@Cory_McDonald - Thanks for the quick response. Does changing the Guess OS in WMware to reflect CentOS 6 on a production DCE server pose any risks? (This was an Audit finding that I'm trying to resolve)
