In DCO, what exactly counts as a license node? Are there any assets besides standard IT racks that can count as a node? Additionally, what counts as a "rack" in an inventory report? Does Powered Floor Equipment count?
I'm seeing some mismatch between the rack count in inventory and the the licenses consumed on a server and am trying to get to the bottom of it.
Thanks for the help!

Hello Jeff.
There are two answers I can share. Hopefully someone else will comment if my below statement is incorrect.
For DCO. Racks and rack based objects are the only items which count against the license count. Power and cooling devices do not count. Planned racks count as well. DCO customers with colo licenses are also bound by floor space where 1 rack counts as 100 sq/ft of floor space. So a DCO instance colo licenses for 100 racks can save solutions with up to 100 racks or 10000 sq/ft ... so if they create a set of rooms over 10,000 sq/ft but only 50 racks, they will not be able to save their solution.
Most of the non-rack floor assets in DCO are excluded from rack license count but I think there are a few exceptions.
For ITA, the rules are the same for racks and floor based assets but I believe the floor space rule has been removed as colo license is part of the base license. So ITA is solely rack licensed based.

Thanks Greg! What I'm trying to hone in on is the "Most of the non-rack floor assets in DCO are excluded from rack license count but I think there are a few exceptions." bit. I'd like to learn more about those exceptions. This customer is not a colo customer so I'm not too worried about that. Just trying to figure out the discrepancy between rack count in inventory and racks used on the licenses page.

Hi Jeff,
There are no exceptions, only modeled rack equipment would be counted as used license.
Racks in store room would not be included in used rack license.
Kind regards
