WIB 8000 shows disconnected immediately after being added to Data Center Expert v.8.3.0

Dear Team,

I have downloaded the two DDF from the DDF search but whenever I add Stulz WIB 8000 it's added but after initializing it immediately shows disconnected. This is after using both the Modbus and SNMP DDF with Modbus and SNMP device add respectively.

I have configured the WIB 8000 to port 161 under SNMP settings, I also did an SNMP walk and attached is the walk file.

Kindly anyone who has had this problem and was able to sort it out, would appreciate to know how you did it.

Thank you.

Hello,

first of all, WIB 8000 it is a kind of gateway....not the equipment itself

from your snmp walk I see a timeout at the end...so you have network problems or WIB it is not properly configured on the equipment's side (I see that you have 2 units attached?)

When adding a device on snmp, DCE trying a full walk in order to match oid with internal database...if the walk timeout occur, DCE cannot add the device

Also, reboot WIB after you modify configuration

from specs seems like WIB 8000 does not have modbus tcp option...modbus DDF available can be used if you install a gateway from RS485 to modbus TCP(without wib8000)

Hi,

I'm able to simulate it with some of our internal SE tools used for DDF testing, so the DDF works. Just to confirm, you're using SNMPv1 when you try to discover it?  If you're using snmpv3, please try snmpv1.

If it discovers then immediately goes into a failure state, the device is getting hung up on one of the OIDs used by DCE to discover other devices or an oid in the DDF itself.

The best way to troubleshoot this would be to open a case with DCE tech support and the DDF team.  I'd also recommend removing any 3rd party DDFs that you know you are not using.  I've seen geist ddfs cause this with some devices, but again it could be any discovery OID used by other DDFs in DCE or an OID in the WIB8000 DDF itself.  Providing DCE capturelogs and having tech support run a packet capture from the DCE backend is the quickest way to figure this out.

Hi ATrabert,

Thank you for your response.

Am using SNMPv1, all DDF used are downloaded from https://ddf.ecostruxureit.com/

Is there an email for tech support I can use to follow up on the same.

Thank you.

Hi Gabi,

Kindly what do you advise I should check on considering am using SNMPv1 and not Modbus.

I have rebooted the WIB8000 severally but still no success.

Thank you.
