Using the 'Equipment Browser' within DCO, how can see all equipment

Using the 'Equipment Browser' within DCO, how can see all equipment globally?  We have far to many different sites (room's) to open everyone.  If there is not, is there a way to query the data directly (outside of DCO)?

Thanks,

Dennis

Hi Dennis,

The Inventory search functionality in web client could be recommended, it is not limited to open locations.

But you are right, basically due to server performance the search functionality of the Equipment Browser (in desktop client) is limited to the opened rooms/locations.

Good news, similar functionality of the desktop "Equipment Browser" is expected to be included in a near future release (developments are currently in progress).

Kind regards

HI Jef!

Regarding new functionality. Are you talking about DCO or ITA?

Hi Valentin,

New functionality in general will only be included in ITA (both cloud and on prem ITA).

Kind regards

Hi Jef,

Thanks for the tip using the web client.  Question on that, is there a way to export to excel via the web client?  Appears I need another push in right direction as I must be missing something.  I only see the search bar in the web client, no export functionality (and how do I 'search' for everything globally?).

Not to mention, when you do search from something within the web client, you do not get any of the columns you see in the desktop version (ie, all the data we use for exporting to excel).   Hope you can help...

Thanks!

Dennis

Hello Dennis

The update Jef is referring to will include the ability to export the list as a csv which should address your interest in exporting to excel, and the format of the page in the web client will include more columns like item name, make, model, and so on. There will be filtering capabilities on the page too so you'll be able to both search and then filter the results.

We should be able to share more fairly soon after the release is officially available.

Regards

Greg Sterling

Greg - I am correct in saying then that there is effectively no way today to export globally within either of the DCO interfaces.  If so, any chance you would know if this new functionality will be delivered in the next release?

Thanks in advance.

I provided Dennis with a demo of the equipment browser in ITA today.

Hello Chris, thanks for the comment. Was there any feedback from Dennis you can share regarding the equipment browser in the ITA web client?

Also there are further improvements expected to that view in the web client in the coming release(s).

Regards

Greg Sterling

Hi Greg,

A couple comments on the ITA web client.

  1. Graphics are getting better
  2. Ability to globally search and export - big win
  3. If/when the web client is the only published version, it should have the look and feel similar to the client (the 4 different panes).  Currently I find it very difficult to use the web interface, its maturity is far behind the client.

Hope this helps,

Dennis
