Hi
sorry. i wrote the issue and i dont' know why the post is without it
yes
customer was tried to upgrade the release but nothing. also uninstall v1.7 and do a fresh installation but same result.
i had a similar issue with v1.6.0 and i did this:
- Sc delete EcoStruxureITGateway-1.6.0.39 --> FAILED
- Sc delete EcoStruxureITGateway-db-1.6.0.39 --> SUCCESS
- Delete C:\Program Files\EcoStruxureITGateway\1.6.0.39 --> SUCCESS
- Delete C:\ProgramData\EcoStruxureITGateway\1.6.0.39 --> FAILED due to not found directory 1.6.0.39 , only 1.5.0.66 and 1.5.1.30
- Delete C:\Users\<your user>\AppData\Local\Temp\# --> PARTIALLY FAILED No dir “#” under here, I’ve tried to cancel the “2” dir that contains subdir and files about upgrade (include the latest bitrock sent), but fails due to some files open by program. After a VM restart, this subdir not still present
- After vm reboot i was able to install it

Hi @Gianluca , you are absolutely right! Even if you didn't say a word I understand you fully. Automated GW upgrade didn't work. You tried to install 1.8 over the 1.7 manually and it couldn't finish it's installation. Probably than you uninstalled the 1.7 and tried to install 1.8 as fresh. Am I right? I did exactly the same probably.
I'm also confused with it and it's sad that I lost time too. But I have a small project and a snapshot of a clean Windows installation.
I hope RnD have know about the problem, collected the logs and have fixed it. We will see the answer here what to do if a customer installation is big. Probably to stop distributing the update if it's buggy. Cheers!

An amateur workaround if you need a fresh install 1.8 on the same Windows machine. (Manual installation)
1) in the Windows control panel locate the services ExoStruxure... stop them and delete with a command
sc delete <service-name>
2) rename or remove the folder in Program Files (EcoStruxreITGateway/1.8.1.44
alternatively use a different folder (custom installation)
3) enjoy the fresh installation with a new interface (note: all settings are lost! don't use for services in production)
