I've encountered this error when upgrading 7.3.1 -> 7.4.3. I started the upgrade and the server has been at this screen for about 2 hours. Before this, I added an additional drive as outlined in the FAQ article. I have a snapshot of the machine on 7.3.1 that I can roll back to if need be.

Yes, I did. Ended up running a backup from within DCE, re-installing the server from new, and restoring from backup. Was able to successfully upgrade after that.
Another admin must have changed the size of the root drive.

Thanks for the clarification: i.e., your problem as well as many similar ones was due to lack of free space on the DCE-server storage (see for example topics Physical DCE AP9470 to VM and ).
