Temperature threshold maximum limit

Hi team,

I am trying to configure a temperature treshold alarm for a compressor, but the maximum value that DCE supports it is 50ºC, and the compressor reaches more than 80ºC. Is there anyway to configure this type of tresholds?

Regards

Hello jzurera,

Temperature values are currently restricted to -40-122F as you have already realized.  Depending on the DDF currently being used for your device (RFC, Default, custom, etc)  you may be able to have the sensor changed to be from Temperature to "Other Numeric" which does not have the restriction of min and max values.

Submit a ticket here, with as much information as you can about the DDF, device sensor, and that you would like the value changed from Temperature to Other Numeric, and the DDF team will investigate if it is possible in your circumstance:

https://helpcenter.ecostruxureit.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360000111657

Possible Information to provide:

- Copy of DDF, if you know what one is being used.  (can be pulled from a DCE backup directory)

- Exact name of the sensor

- That you want it changed from Temperature to Other Numeric

- Screenshot of all DDFs and their versions (depending on if the device is SNMP or Modubs) from:

     - SNMP: Device > SNMP Device Communication Settings > Device Definition Files

     - Modbus: Device > Modbus Device Communication Settings > Device Definition Files.

I have submitted an enhancement request for an increase in the temperature range to be increased.  I can not say when or if an increase in the range of the threshold values could be implemented.

Regards,

Cory

Hi @Cory_McDonald,

I think it would be better if this restriction could be changed in DCE, because it will help more people, if we change this DDF it will only be effective for this sensor. I have seen that I can check the pressure in the compressor instead of the temperature and define a numeric threshold alarm over this sensor, so I think it would be faster than create a new DDF for this device.

But if in a future we maximum range for temperature could be upgraded to 100ºC for example, it would be very useful for more users.

Thanks for your support.

Hello @jzurera,

I have already notified product management of the request so it can be looked at for possible addition to the product road-map.  Thanks for the update and I am glad that you found an alternative value to create a threshold against as a workaround.

Kind Regards,

Cory

@jzurera,

Please provide the make/model of the device and a copy of the current DDF if it is a custom DDF.  I would like to add this to the enhancement request.

Thank you,

Cory
