On site the customer has 12 Stulz AC units. The units are connected with each via RS485 to the WIB 8000 communication unit. All AC units are connected to the WIB module bus 1 port.
The WIB 8000 module firmware version is 1.37. The DCE version is 7.8.
I have tried several DDF files. (version23 to version26)
The connected AC unit hardware’s are the following.

The problem is that, that I can’t add the WIB 8000 module, the DCE initializing 15 minutes and then gives communication fault.
When I do an SNMPwalk through the DCE server it can retrieve the OID from the WIB 8000 module.
WIB module settings:
bus1 timeout: 3000ms, max. cache hold:60, polling time bus1: 300 seconds,
So the question is that, what can be the problem? Why can’t initiate the DCE server the WIB 8000 module?

I recommend reaching out to your local technical support for assistance. They will likely need to run a packet capture or analyze the DDF to ensure that the proper values are being polled from the device. The DDF team may need to get involved again as well, depending on what your local support is able to find out.

Cory

The DDF team couldn’t help me. I have analyzed the SNMP walk and noticed that the Stulz WIB module doesn’t have most of the functions which are asked via the DDF file. I have removed the unnecessary parts. When I installed the new modified DDF the DCE server recognized the air conditioner devices and the connected sensors.
If somebody is facing the problem of the very slow discovery process, or the connection problem which is related to the Stulz WIB module than it can be a good idea to analyze the walk file.

DDF modifications that are not done correctly can cause failure of the DCE software. These sort of issues can take time to troubleshoot, and lead to extended downtime of the software. If you are thinking about modifying a DDF, now or in the future, it is best to reach out to them with your recommended changes and let them handle the modifications.
