Can the search field get updated to search from all fields which are located in the "general" tab (or be able to select which field) of each device. Right now it only searches the "Name" field, so if you named a cisco product with a host name that doesn't include cisco it wont find it, unless you left that blank then it searches the model name. I want to be able to search for all cisco products (or any manufacturer) in my sites to do proper inventory reports etc.

Ryan. Are you referring to searches of the equipment browser in DCO?
The browser has a global search field as well as search fields for each individual column. The global search will match against any datapoint for the asset whether the column is displayed in the equip browser or not.
Here is an example where I entered a partial serial number in the global search field of the equipment browser.

Ok I see that now, I was wondering if the search would do that in the navigation tab screen as well? Also once the equipment browser lists the results can it generate a report of the searched items?

You can export the search results from the Equipment Browser to .csv file format.

Is there a better format to see that data, currently when you open that file its a disaster, basically not readable.

You can export the contents of the equipment browser by clicking on the icon I circled in this screenshot.

That works thanks. Is there a reason the search under navigation is limited to name only from my initial question?

As I have understood it, it's due to performance issues.
