Power Summary Data in DCO

On the screenshot attached I have the power summary data from an AP7853 rPDU and all the figures highlighted in blue match the figures I get from DCE.

My questions are :-

Why is the same information shown twice on this screenshot?

What is the relevance of the "Total power output (Avg)" and "Total output power (Peak)" values and how does DCO use them? They appear to be a sum of the "Power output (Avg)" for each bank, but since this appears to be replicated data the "Total power output (Avg)" would appear to have no relevance.  It is simply double the sum of the average power on the 2 banks of the PDU.

Can you explain please?

Thank you

Hi Garry,

That is a good find.

I tried to reproduce the issue (DCO 8.0) with a rack PDU in 3 device groups and - just as in you case - the property page showed a section for each device group and a 3 times total.

But the good news is, when looking at the rack PDU tool-tip the measured data was correct - so it seems that the issue is isolated to that particular property page, and the rest of the system is using the correct data.

Best Regards,

Gert

Hi Garry,

Do you see this duplication with all your associated AP7853 rpdu's? Would it be possible to ask for a copy of the DCO backup file and server logs (can be collected from the webmin interface)? I will send you an invite to my =S= box shortly (just in case if you would share your data safely with me), thanks.

Kind regards

I think I have figured it out.

The PDU's that show the information twice are in separate groups that are NOT in the same subtree. So for example on the attached image: -

Rack PDU1 does not DOES show replicated data
Rack PDU2 does not does NOT show replicated data
Rack PDU3 does not does NOT show replicated data
Rack PDU4 does not DOES show replicated data
Rack PDU5 does not does NOT show replicated data

Hope this makes sense

I noticed that the tooltip data for the rack power usage appeared to be correct, but I am still interested and a little concerned as to what the "Total power output (Avg)" and "Total output power (Peak)" values are used for.  If it is simply so that it can be displayed on the page then not such a worry, but if these values are being used for behind the scenes calculations then it may have as yet unseen knock on effects in DCO.

Is there any way to confirm if the data is used elsewhere?

Hi Garry,

I will log an investigation/enhancement case for this, so it can be investigated and also verified if it has impact elsewhere. Many thanks for reporting and finding the cause.

Kind regards
