Hi All,
I have numerous PM810 Power Meters that I am monitoring on DCE v8.1.0 via Modus. They all have the same Firmware Version however I have picked up that some allow me to Setup Power Factor Alarm Thresholds and some do not have the Power Factor option to setup Thresholds.
After comparing the two everything looks identical all power Meters except for the "Commercial Reference" as per the screenshots attached. The PM810s with Commercial Reference: PM10MG do not have the Power Factor Option.
The Client wants to receive alerts based on the PF therefore I need to setup these thresholds.
Please advise on what I can possibly do to resolve this issue.
Thank you in adcance.

Hi @Tafadzwa,
I assume that these are using the "PowerLogic 810" ddf with the filename of powerlogic_810.xml. If that is the case the DDF is polling the registers listed below for the "Power Factor Total" value. If this register is not available on that specific model, then the device will not have that sensor within DCE. It is possible that the PM810MG does not have that register value.
You can use the utility found in our Help Center to create a Modbus walk of the device to see what register values that it is returning: https://community.se.com/t5/DCE-FAQ/How-to-create-a-device-walk-file-for-Data-Center-Expert/ta-p/446...
If the device does not respond with a valid value for that register, then DCE will not be able to show the Power Factor sensors.
As an FYI, there may also be a firmware update available for these PM810's to bring them up to the most recent version: https://www.se.com/us/en/faqs/FA237920/
Regards,
Cory

Hello @Tafadzwa,
Just wanted to follow-up on this. Were you able to get the PM810 Power Meter discovered into DCE?
Kind Regards,
Cory

Hi @Cory_McDonald ,
I did manage to discover the Power Meters into DCE via Modbus however the issue was getting to set a Power Factor Alarm Threshold on some of them.
I ended up not setting the Power Factor Threshold on those that did not have it under Alarm Thresholds.

Hi @Tafadzwa,
Not all devices will have the same sensors available to create thresholds against. If they don't have the Device Sensor for the value you are looking for, it may be a firmware related thing/DDF Change needed, or the specific device isn't capable of reporting the value that you are looking for.
Kind Regards,
Cory
