Dear Team,
We have a customer with subject unit, we've connected it to the DCE via Modbus over IP.
However, customer claims it keeps getting blacklisted due to changing MAC address.
I have never heard units changing MAC address on the TCP/IP environment, anyone know if this is a issue with Modbus over IP.
Thank you.
Regards,
Felix

Hi,
If the mac address of the Ortea device keeps changing, I would suggest this should probably be taken up with Ortea.
This shouldn't affect modbus specifically, but it will affect how the rest of the network gets requests to and from the device in the first place - and "blacklisted" makes it sound like they have some network security in place that the changes really don't play well with.
If it's the mac address of the DCE that's changing, something's gone very wrong - the DCE really doesn't like its address being changed, so this would cause huge issues.
