Hi, I'm trying to connect an IBM TS3500 librar to its respective switch but it is located in a different room and the "back connections" option in Properties isn't available. Is there any other way to link them?
Regards!

Hi Javier,
Try the Route configuration option in Network management.
In the following illustration, I have a TS3500 Tape Library located in one room (test_8) which would like to be connected to a switch unit in another room (test_9):
Double-click on the Route for the desired port:
in the Edit route field, specify/browse to the target item/port (such as switch 9x in test_9, rack 9x in this example):
(double-click to select and push the enter button to finish the configuration):
Kind regards

Hi Jef,
I'm having doubts about the connections DCO made by this way.
I did it your way and connections lines were created in gray, like back connections. Are these, indeed, created as back connections?
If it is, so what's the difference between this way and by using the connection tool? Why can't I make connections between servers in different rooms using the connection tool?
Thank you and kind regards.

Hi Javier,
The grey line is type of the cable/connection that's been used/configured. It can be changed to other cable type if you wish: select your cable/connection, right-click > Properties (or double-click on the connection) > Physical, and then select the Cable Type you want to use:
Cable Types can be configured in Tools > Configure Network Cable Types
Back and Front connection option is only available/supported for patch panels.
Kind regards
