Netbotz 570 Camera POD 160 continuos recording and external storage support

Hi,

We have a customer who would like to install CCTV Cams in their DC and will have a view in DCE, since they have DCE Expert 7.3.1 already installed and using it to monitor Rpdu's and Netbotz200.

The requirement from the client is to store camera continuous video for 30 days on an external storage provided by them.

Please clarify if we have the option in Netbotz 570 (along with Camera pod 160) to link it to an external storage on the network and store camera continuous video for 30 days? Also retrieve the video when ever required.

If No then please suggest some models in Pelco that can serve the purpose.

Thanks & regards

Shemil

Hi Shemil,

NetBotz are designed to capture based on motion or on an alert. It was also designed to capture a 8 meg sized group of images. This set of images is increased in size when external storage is used but I believe it only increased to 12 meg. When used in conjunction with StruxureWare DCE, you do have surveillance and it can be configured to capture continuously during alerts. Even in this case, it is not designed to be a full time surveillance tool but rather it is designed to monitor areas where motion is the exception and not the rule. It is meant to capture only when the unexpected occurs.

As for Pelco, I'm unsure if anyone here has knowledge of their tools but I know they have cameras and DVRs and I believe they can accomplish this. You would want to contact Pelco directly to get the best info on their systems.
