The note from the update says:
Desktop client not included with ISOThe desktop client is now hosted and is no longer included with the ISO. There is no longer a strict version number match between the server and client.
You do not always need to update desktop clients when you update your Data Center Operation server. If a client update is required, a message will appear when you start the client .
We have a very tightly locked down update policy for our corporate laptops and the new client cannot be installed until it has been scanned and vetted by my InfoSec team and made available via our internal software request system.
I cannot have the situation where we update the server to the new version and employees cannot access via thick client for a couple weeks for software vetting.
Is there a way to know if a new client update will be required prior to updating server versions?
Thanks.

Hi Gregory,
My recommendation is, as a good practice, basically to run the upgrade on a test environment before applying on the production setup. This is also to make sure/verify if the upgrade is working as expected plus if there should be a need for newer client update.
Kind regards
