I have a smart-UPS3000XL with a NMC2 ver 5.1.3. The network team did a FW patch on a network switch at a different location. Stuxureware sent me a comm lost message at about the time the switch was being upgraded. Because I didn't look at it immediately the NMC error log already overrode the information of what may of occurred. The admin password and NTP changed for the nmc2 somehow. I reset the password and NTP IP and it's fine now. Can these changes occur to NMC2 without direct intervention?

Hi Jan,
Assuming no serial coble is connected, this should only happen if you manually change the password via http, ftp (not available in 6.x), or telnet or if the configuration was changed with DCE. Did you look at the NMC logs? Does it show a login or configuration push? Not that a newer firmware would have made a difference but that may also be something you want to look at for this NMC, we're up to version 6.5
