Hi @Mike-Sutton
The way passcodes are redeemed has changed a lot in the new system. Previously you were given a passcode that wasn't associated to a customer, and that connection was made when the passcode was redeemed to a device. Now, passcodes are issued to a customer account directly, so when you go to redeem them, they're already there waiting to be used.
This leaves an obvious gap for passcodes that were created under the old system, but haven't been redeemed yet, so have no customer association. For these, the best method I've found so far is to raise a case to your local CCC providing the passcodes, and any way to uniquely identify the customer account - an email address, the mac address of a device that's already on the account, etc. We can then associate them to the correct account so you can continue as expected.
As this should only affect passcodes issued in the past, not in the future, the need to do this should lessen over time as we get everyone transitioned to the new system.

Hi @Shaun thanks for the response. the problem here is we are a software partner and i am an accredited software engineer DCIM assets are registered in my email, SN and Macs recorded and client name in asset tag so i currently have over 120 assets associated to my account! we maintain the support on the devices (contracts purchased through SE) so that when extra licenses are ordered i just redeem them then apply them.
Does that mean that digi licenses have to be ordered now and these will be associated to my account and i just apply them to the desired asset?
I know I'm Complicated haha

Hello Mike,
It is highly recommended that the end-user assets are owned by the end-user themselves so that they have access to new functionality within the EcoStruxure IT Entitlements portal. At this time, this primarily includes access to software updates (after first setup by technical support) and access to publications/notifications.
For your customer to have access to software update files, they must have an account and own the assets that are being entitlements for updates access. Without the assets being owned by the end-user they can not have access to the update files in the new portal.
Since your customers likely do not have their own accounts right now, they also can not subscribe to publications/notifications. Have your customers ever wanted to know when a new software version, newsletter, or critical announcement comes out? The EcoStruxure IT Entitlements portal now handles these sort of notifications.
Also, as additional features get added, your customers would not have access to those either.
If the customer has purchased assets, those assets should be owned by the end-user within an end-user account since they have purchased the assets. We are aware of the need for partner functionality to be added to the portal to see this sort of information within end-user accounts.
To proceed with correcting your account, please reach out to your local customer care center to begin the process of separating data from your account into end user accounts. They will need the following information for the accounts:
- Account Name
- Account Address
- Customer Name
- Customer Email
- Which assets in your account move into each of the provided accounts.
Adding that whichever email address is associated to the digital orders is the account in which the digital licensing is being added to. These licenses can only be transferred between accounts by Schneider Electric. So if your account is separated out into other accounts, it is recommended to use the end-user email addresses on the orders and work with them to redeem the additional licensing.
Kind Regards,
Cory
