Running into an issue communicating with a Kohler Generator via Modbus. The device discovers in DCE, but, then is not giving any parameters. In speaking with the Kohler rep, I've found that apparently the appliance is protected with a "password" to read the modbus register. Can the DCE appliance DDF be configured to send the password and then read the registers on it's polling cycle?

Hi Thomas,
no, the Modbus config has no place to enter a password. If that feature can be disabled in the device, you’ll need to do that.
You can enter an enhancement request for this but I do not believe having a password is standard and if that is the case, it is unlikely to be added as a feature.
Thanks,
Steve

Thanks Steve. I figured that was the answer. 😀 I'm in contact with the vendor as i 've not really seen these password protected for even reads, but, we all see something new every day!
