Hi all!
In continuation of my old topic , I want to discuss the possibility of existence procedure in Schneider Electric to officially verification and accept a custom DDF-file (usually for 3d party devices) for use in SxW DCE software?
My question has arisen for a long time already since there are many practical cases, when customers of SxW DCE software for objective reasons are forced to use custom unofficial DDF-files for 3d party devices (not made Schneider Electric or DDF-files made of Schneider Electric, but unofficially modified). Since customers of SxW DCE software want everything to be officially accepted, in order to protect themselves and their business from possible problems, financial losses and other troubles in the future.
Very thanks for the support.

HI.
You can use Device Support page, I guess.
At least as the way to start communication.
I think that guys can verify your files for consistency and add it to the DDF library.
I'm not sure, but you should try.

Hi,
I think the Specialists Idea to have a procedure in place to test custom DDF's is a very good one. I personally have some DDF's which vendors have helped put together and they work great no issues but they are "Not official DDF's. I guess one could just go through the normal procedure of requesting a DDF and then supply the custom "unofficial DDF with the new request. I have tried this in the past and it did not go as planned because the latest version 7.4.3 does not have the same functionality available as my unofficial DDF! Going to the test theory in the next few weeks wish me luck!

Hi
Its a good idea to have a dedicated forum/space for people that want to share experiences/files with each other in regards to Device Support. I will put it on our task board and we (Device support team) will then work on how this is best done in our platform. We already have a couple of ideas, on how we better support our customers when giving device support.
kind regards
Jesper Thomsen
