Using Insight, is it possible to create a report which shows the cable connections, type and color?
There doesn't seem to be a canned report. I can try and build one however before I do that, I would like to know if it is possible. I suck at Insight, so any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
J

Hi John,
From version 7.4 of StruxureWare for Data Centers Operation the network cable color and usage is exported during an ETL export. Besides this, other info about the connection like type (RJ45, fiber etc.), port number, module name etc is exported as well.
In Insight you have to create a new Data Source (JDBC Data Source) where you provide the info for the ETL export database. You can now use this when you create a new Data Set where you can write SQL to get the data you want for the report.
The specific info about network connections can be found in the relation_property and relation_endpoint_property tables in the ETL export database.
Color and usage can be found in the relation_property table where the value of the column 'rp_name' will be 'connection_color' and 'connection_usage'.
From the relation_endpoint_property you can find info like type and port.
You can find the ETL Export 7.4 Database Schema here: http://dcimsupport.apc.com/display/public/DCIMDEVELOPER/ETL+-+Extract+Transform+Load
