ITA Mass properties Change

Hello!

I`m searching a method to do a mass property change in ITA.

I had looked API Methods but see only the method to change custom properties from a device.

Can I do that changhes by ETL?

I Need to change power properties from a lot of devices.

Silvio, which specific properties are you trying to change?

You can edit many properties from the desktop client equipment browser.

As an example below, I used the equipment browser to view an entire room of servers by opening the below room and filtering the equipment browser column "device type" and setting that to server.

Then select one or more of the entries in the list in the equipment browser, right click and choose to edit multiple items. From the below popup in the screenshot you can change many parameters including nameplate, adjusted nameplate, redundancy, input and output voltages as well as tags and custom property settings.

Note I also checked "edit all items in table" on the pop-up window so all items in the equipment browser would be changed not just the handful I selected.

Regards

Hi Greg!

Thanks for your answer.

That method will help us a lot.

But, if I want to develop to my customer a custom solution, it is possible with ETL? Change that itens?

Thanks

It is possible to change some attributes via ETL especially if you want to change custom properties, tags as well as the device name, bar code or serial number.

Some work is needed in advance to use ETL as the devices you want to manage in ITA need an association in place to its ETL record before you can change them.

REST api's can be used to change asset data as well, no associations are needed to use rest, but you will likely need to know the device UUID.

Regards
