IT Optimize and Portal over Windows 2012 server
Hello,
we are going to start a POC with an important customer. We sent him the requirements of the VMs that we need to deploy DCE, Portal and DCO with ITO and Server Access included. We suggested only one VM with W2008 for ITO and Portal, but the customer only allows to install W2012 servers.
I have read that it is possible to install manually ITO in W2012 but there were problems with the backup in DCO. Is there still this issue?
What would be the best way to install the servers?
Regards.

Hello Javier.
In general, ITO should successfully install on Windows 2012 and 2012R2 if you extract the ITO installer zip file to a temp folder, then from a windows command window change to the temp folder and run the ITO installer with the "–check_os_supported no" command line option.
We have a problem for a couple of customers where ITO installation failed on Windows 2012 when there were group policy security policies in place on the installation filesystem. I have seen other customers successfully install ITO on Windows 2012.
Regarding the backups items. There was a bug in earler versions of DCO which was introduced when a customer upgraded from an early version of DCO 8.x up to 8.0.4. If you install ITO and your backups from DCO are not working, then let us know and we'll help you work-around that issue. That problem should be addressed already in DCO 8.1.

Thank you Greg,
we will try to install both servers, ITO and Portal over WS2012. If we find some problems, we will ask for your support.
Regards.
