I cannot import "PortConfiguration" & "NetworkCOnnections"

Hi

I am trying to import fibre-optic infractructure from external XLS and by tab Port Configurations is nothing imported & consequentially there is error with importing NetworkConnection.

What/how do I need to involve information port_type? (example "LC de fibra").

I have a tabs from left: cable / PortConfigurations / NetworkConnections.

All devices required for import already existe in DCO.

Example of "PortConfigurations".

name id port_type start_port_number port_count module_name port_speed
ATT0101 ATT0101 LC de fibra 0 1 foPCI1 1Gbps
ATT0101 ATT0101 LC de fibra 0 1 foPCI2 1Gbps

Example of "NetworkConnections":

id from_name from_id from_port_type from_port_number from_module_name from_port_speed from_patch_panel_rear to_name to_id to_port_type to_port_number to_module_name to_port_speed to_patch_panel_rear barcode description lenght manufacturer model_name name part_number serial_number cable_type_id
fo124 D4-fo48 D4-fo48 LC de fibra 15 K4 1Gbps 0 ATT0101 ATT0101 LC de fibra 0 foPCI1 1Gbps 0                 FO-ORANGE
fo178 D4-fo02 D4-fo02 LC de fibra 14 K8 1Gbps 0 ATT0101 ATT0101 LC de fibra 0 foPCI2 1Gbps 0                 FO-ORANGE

Thank you for all possible way of help,

Petr Riha

Hi Petr Riha

My intial thought is that the port_type you have entered is not supported. You can see the supported types here:

ETL Import Database

Just below the table PORT_CONFIGURATION the supported port types/connector types are listed. Hope this helps.

Best,

Niels

Hi Niels

I have tried to change several values within Excels-files for importation but there is no imported nothing from new ports. Would it be possible to upload some files, lie XLSs, ETL.log for fast review & give me an option to see the light on the end of tunel please?

Thank you for your understanding,

Petr

Sure I can take a look if you upload the excel file and the etl.log. I would really like to see if there are any issues in the template provided on DCIM support.

Sorry for not answering before. From the log I can see the error: Error inserting row into table [port_configuration] with values: [ATT0101], [RJ45_REGULAR], [1], [1], [foPCI1], [1Gbps], [1449763370647], This means that you are trying to add a port configuration to the database, but it is already there. Since there does not to seem to be an error in the excel sheet with port configurations this indicates that you might haven gotten into some bad state. So delete the staging database and try again. When I try to import the port configurations and network connections I get another error. Error inserting row into table [network_connection] with values: [fo1], [CPD1-FABRIC-1], [FIBER_LC_REGULAR], [ 1.0], [Gi6], [ 0], [K4-fo45], [FIBER_LC_REGULAR], [ 14.0], [Z7-VMAX-SB2], [ 0], [ 1450446600241.0], [new] The value K4-fo45 does not refer to any equipment in the port configuration list. Please be aware that the transformation package assumes that all the devices you mention in the network connections must be specified in the port configuration list. When I look through the list of network connections this seems to be an issue for many of the specified connections. I hope this helps. Best, Niels

Hi Niels I didn't use import from Excel within DCO and there was possible to see where is the problem. Like you said. There is need to be importing all ports which are mentioned within connections-part. Even they already exist. This was something which I didn't know and after adding all ports is all fine and I was able to import all without issue. Thank you & I am sorry to discover something like this (basci) by this way. Yours Truly, Petr
