How to monitoring Generator with ComAp AMF25

Hi, I need to monitoring three Generatos with ComAp AMF25 controllers. The idea is monitoring with DCE.

¿This is posibily? I need to generate MIBs for these equipment or its automatic?

Thanks!

Mariano

Hi Mariano,

DCE works with device definition files or DDFs. A DDF needs to either already be available or needs to be created. If you go to the top menu, you should see a device support option or you could go directly to:
help.se-dmaas.com/devices

You can search for the appropriate DDF or if one is not available, you can request a DDF. If you need to request a DDF, you'll need the manufacturer's MIB file and they'll probably ask for an SNMPwalk of the device.

Once you have the DDF installed, you simply discover the device and it will use the appropriate DDF.

Steve

Dear Mariano,

In addition to Steve's answer, I would like to inform you that you can add a critical physical Infrastructure device that has got the support of either SNMP or Modbus Over TCP.

Therefore, please check with the Generator vendor to know the communication protocol it supports.

If it supports SNMP, then the vendor should provide the Management Information Base(MIB) file. User need not generate the MIB as it has to be provided by the manufacturer if their product support SNMP.

If the Generator supports Modbus Over TCP, then the vendor can provide you the Modbus Register IDs for the parameters that can be monitored.

If your device supports either of SNMP or Modbus Over TCP or Modbus RS 485, then its possible to integrate with the DCE software. For DCE to show the parameters, the appropriate DDF file need to be created and added to DCE. You can request for the DDF here: https://dcimsupport.apc.com/devices

Note: Modbus RS485 requires to be converted to Modbus Over TCP by using an ethernet gateway such as ...

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Bala

Hi Mariano,

With reference to your question, we have an existing DDF for ComAp AMF25 - Genset. I will contact you via email along with the file.

Regards,
Divya
