Hi,
For NetBotz 3xx, 4xx, and 5xx units, the NetBotz themselves are responsible for their own notifications and DCE can not be configured to notify for them. They are not SNMP devices and can not be configured in the same way. You can configure the alarms through DCE but the alarm configuration still resides on the NetBotz appliance and the appliance is still responsible for the alert. Most of the reason for this is the NetBotz can be configured with so many different alert actions, it was felt that keeping the intelligence at the "edge" was the proper way to do things so there was not a single point of failure. This was the design going all the way back to NetBotz Central, prior to the ability to add Modbus or SNMP devices.
For the NetBotz 200, 250, rack access, and 750, they are treated like any other SNMP device and DCE can alert on behalf of those devices as well as being able to configure the devices themselves to alert directly..
Thanks,
Steve.
