How do you change the password on the apcsetup user in DCE 7.6?

Hello,

I have a DCE 7.6 VM and I would like to change the password for the apcsetup user.

We have changed it before but I don't remember how.

The user doesn't show up in the DCE client and I can only logon to the actual console of the DCE VM with it but that doesn't seem to give any options to change the password, only to reset network settings.

Hi Steve,

Power on the virtual appliance.

In the console view, log in to the virtual appliance using apcsetup as the user name and password.

Within in five seconds, press m to modify the settings.

Follow the prompts to specify your settings

(one of the prompts would be "Do you want to change the apcsetup users's password?)

Is this only for a DCE virtual appliance? As for the physical appliance DCE-7.6.0, I could not see the password change option you specified.

Are you looking to change back to the default? To reset the password (and I'm not sure if you'll be forced to change the default console user back too, please follow k-base http://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA158547.

You'll be prompted to reset the admin password then the apcsetup password.

If it is default and you're looking to change it, see Jef's comment.
