How can I modify generic enclosure?

How can I modify generic enclosure?

The generic enclosure can only have 1 bay with either a combination of half and full height or half and full width, I need to modify them to accommodate both and also I can add them in front and back, a good example is a cisco UCS where your blade server is in front and the control cards at the back and a Huawei NE9000 where you have 3 bays of a combination of 2 half and full height and 1 full width bay.

You could configure the enclosure (blade chassis or network equipment) to have half bays.  These will accept both half and full blades/line cards.

However DCO/ITA does not support rear blades, only front.  You would have to model those logically in the devices network port properties.  For example you would create a set of fiber ports and then use the "module field" to name it.  You can create as many port configurations/modules as needed.  If they use the same port type and numbering, then the modules have to be uniquely named.

I tried your suggestion but it can only give me either a width type or a height type cards in it as shown in the left of the photo. I'm looking for a solution to have both of them just like in the right of the photo. As I mention in my previous example, the Huawei NE9000.

Unfortunately you cannot do that either.  You would need to break it up into multiple enclosures.  If you are using adjusted nameplate power strategy, you would also have to divide the power draw by the number of enclosures or set some of them to 0.

If one hasn't been logged already, I'm sure a feature request for this functionality can be created.

@Jef @gsterling

Can you assist with logging this feature request?  I thought we used to have a specific page for this on the ITE/ITA helpcenter site but am unable to find it.
