GSM integration on DCE

Hi All, Is any possible way to  connect a GSM SIM to DCE so that whenever there is an alarm the data center operator gets an alarm notification over SMS

Hi,

Currently the expected path for this is mail-to-sms gateways.  The DCE does offer the capability to send shorter emails specifically intended for this usage, but there is no provision to directly attach a GSM modem.

Thanks for the information, so how can I use "shorter Emails"  to send as an SMS, do  I need to configure an SMS gateway server and connect with the Web interface?

Hi,

The 'short email' function is intended to create an email that's short enough to survive the conversion to sms well.   To actually send it will still need a mail-to-sms gateway.  (Some cellular providers provide this functionality, for example.  I've also seen customers using physical appliances, such as the smseagle gateway for this.)
