Greetings,
I'm new to SE's Community Forum and EcoStruxture.
Phrasing my question using the example below with regards to Child-Server & BACNet addressing.
All the locations below connect to a single instance of EcoStruxture running on a VM in a data center. There is a data circuit that connects each location below to a data center that is running BAS so there is no 1-1 association with each location. All locations use a single instance of ExcoStruxture or multi-tenant.
Location NY -> WAN -> Data Center (ExcoStruxture Instance 1)
Location NJ-> WAN -> Data Center (ExcoStruxture Instance 1)
Location CT-> WAN -> Data Center (ExcoStruxture Instance 1)
Location CA-> WAN -> Data Center (ExcoStruxture Instance 1)
If all locations have an MEP or Endpoint with the same BACNet Device ID 1001 will EcoStruxture be able to distinguish if the Device ID is associated with Location NY, NJ, CT, etc?
So all locations are sending BACNet 1001 to ExcoStruxture will there be overlap and resulting in errors?
I'm unsure if Child-Server ensures there is no overlap across the Layer 3 network boundary as a BBMD is not used.
Thank you,

Hello @Duke-Network66,
Can you please verify what EcoStruxure software you are referencing above. You have selected EcoStruxure IT Data Center Expert, but I have a feeling based on the content that it is EcoStruxure Building Operation or possible a different EcoStruxure offer. If you can confirm, I can route your post to the correct group for assistance.
Kind Regards,
Cory

Hi Cory, EcoStruxure related to Build Automation Systems. I'm confirming with our Controls team. Thank you for reaching out to help as I'm new to SE's BAS/BMS systems and supporting hardware such as ASPs. Thx Again-John
