Does IT Optimize utilize Windows routing table to reach other subnets?

Hi guys,

Could you please let me know if the following scenario will work and what's more important is that a supported solution:

• ESXi host has 2 NICs serving two separate VLANs
• Windows Server that hosts IT Optimize also has two NICs one on each VLAN (those NICs are assigned to appropriate ESXi NICs via separate vswitches)
• IT Optimize is installed on above Windows server and it is required to:
  • Connect to the DCO using NIC1 - VLAN1
  • Poll devices (ESXi servers) on NIC2 - VLAN2
• DCO 7.4.5 is installed on a separate ESXi server and is set to VLAN1 IP address range

Is this a natural behaviour for IT Optimize?

Will it simply use the host (Windows) routing table and poll devices on NIC2 IP range and then forward this data to DCO using NIC1 IP address?

Hello Lukasz

IT Optimize runs as an application on the windows host so you should find its bound to the network and security rules defined on the windows host, so if the host has multiple connections it should follow any network or routing policies in place.
